Lonely
It's August 3, 2026. It is cloudy. My sons are away and I am a finding that my purpose in life is on vacation. I am missing getting annihilated in chess by my youngest boy and watching anime with my older boy.
Being home alone again brings me through a lake of experiences since the December 19, 2019 cancer diagnosis. What shows up in my awareness is feelings. The medical care has been wonderful and I am blessed and spoiled to have a wonderful team of medical staff in various clinics. They are the heroes. I am, however, feeling alone. I hope that my boys are having a good trip and I am looking forward to tonights online chess session with the younger one and a brief message with photos from the older one. I find that I can wait many hours for them to send me something.
This is my professional patient training, I suppose. I used to work on the Rubik's cube to improve my time while waiting at the Princess Margaret Hospital. Now, I am not feeling up to that. I am just breathing and taking care of time.
